Welcome to Room 4's Solar System

In Room 4, we have been learning about the Space. We have been learning about the planets in our Solar System. We talked about the different things that are on the planets. We made a brainstorm about what our planets could look like.

This is my planet.

Adding to 20

LI: I am learning addition up to 20 by counting all of the objects.

Arina: I like to try and count in 2's, but it's good to start in ones too.  I want to try and do take aways.

At the Beginning...

LI: I am learning to find a beginning, middle and end in my story.

Arina: It's tricky when you don't look at the pictures. Sometimes I need to look at the pictures to help me remember.

Gymnastics

LI: I am learning to use my blue word card when I get stuck.

Arina: 'Was' sounds like an o in the middle but it is an a. When you can't spell a word, you need to sound it out or I can use my blue and yellow word cards.

Clown Pastel Art

I am learning to create a clown face using pastels, and add another feature using a different medium.

I wrote my own sentence about who my clown is.

Pop Maths!

LI: I am learning to add two numbers together up to 10

"You count how many is on the bubble, and you count on your fingers then you pop two bubbles that make the answer. I am really, really good at this game."

Rocket Speller

LI: I am learning to make the first and last sounds in words

"I can make the first and last sound of new words. It helps me to read them."

Colourful Balloons

LI: I am learning to illustrate a story that I wrote using Kidpix

"I chose the playground for my background because it is nice. I like the picture of me holding the colourful balloons. They're pretty."

Look at me

I am learning to draw a self portrait and add detail to it.

"I can add detail to my face by using the right colours and colouring inside the lines." Arina

• get dressed and undressed by myself
• enter and exit the pool safely
• put my face in the water and blow bubbles
• put my whole body under the water
• pick up objects from the bottom of the pool
• float on my front/back and stand up
• have fun in the pool!
